Position Summary:
The Seasonal Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds and landscaping of our senior living community during the summer months. This part-time, seasonal position plays a key role in creating and sustaining a clean, safe, and visually appealing outdoor environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, and mulching. Maintain flower beds, shrubs, walkways, patios, and outdoor seating areas. Remove debris, leaves, and litter from pathways, driveways, and outdoor common areas. Assist with planting, pruning, and seasonal landscaping projects. Perform light maintenance of groundskeeping tools and equipment. Identify and report any safety hazards or needed repairs (e.g., broken walkways, damaged fencing). Ensure all work is performed safely and, in a resident-friendly manner. Operate and maintain a pressure washer to clean building exteriors, walkways, patios, and other surfaces as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and garden tools. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance. Ability to work independently and follow verbal or written instructions. Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for the senior living environment. Reliable and punctual with good time management skills.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred but not required. Valid driver's license preferred (depending on equipment use and site layout). Must pass background check.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Ability to climb and work from ladders up to 15 feet in height. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, humidity, rain, etc.). Manual dexterity and physical stamina to operate hand tools and landscaping machinery. Must be able to perform physical tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Pay:
$15.50 - $17.50 per hour
Schedule:
Seasonal Full-Time Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm On-call as needed Weekends as needed
