Job Description
Position Overview Scott Lakes Property Company, Inc. is looking for a professional, reliable, and experienced Head Groundskeeper to maintain upkeep across all properties in its portfolio. This individual will be in charge of maintaining the grounds through a variety of tasks with the goal of creating beautiful, well-groomed spaces for our guests. This is hands-on, outdoor work in the warm months and a mix of outdoor and indoor projects in the cold months - meaning year-round work. A groundskeeper will assist with property upkeep during the warm weather months and potentially one or more part-time summer assistants. Responsibilities Warm Weather Season (April 1 - October 31) Lawn and yard care Garden care and general landscaping Beach and waterfront upkeep Sprinkler and irrigation system maintenance Maintaining landscaping equipment Tending fire pits Work on properties owned for future development Hot tub & pool maintenance Cool Weather Transition Seasons (November and March) Spring clean-up and fall clean-up Setting out outdoor furniture and recreational equipment in spring; packing most of it into storage in fall Outdoor project work: building and repairing fences, deck work and construction, outside painting, and power washing Tree and bush trimming Running wood chipper Running tractor and brush hog Equipment maintenance Creating and maintaining pathways and trails through the privately owned wooded areas Hot tub maintenance Cold Weather Season (December - February) The focus shifts mostly to indoor projects, working alongside the site management team: Repairs inside the vacation rental homes Painting inside the vacation rental homes Installing replacement flooring Furniture replacement Some minor improvement and remodeling work Equipment maintenance Hours This a year-round position with a natural seasonal rhythm. The warm weather season is our busiest stretch, so consistent availability is expected, some weekend work is required for coverage, and extended time off isn't available during this period. The cold weather season is our slower time of year, and the company can be flexible with extended time off during this period when planned in advance. Expected weekly hours are listed below; actual hours may vary slightly week to week based on seasonal workload. Warm weather season (April - October): 35-40 hours per week Cool weather season (November & March): 25-35 hours per week Cold weather season (December - February): 20-25 hours per week
