Groundsman - Arborist

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Groundsman - Arborist to join our team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the health, safety, and beauty of our local tree population. In this role, you will assist with tree care, landscape maintenance, and groundskeeping activities, ensuring that all outdoor spaces are safe, attractive, and well-managed. Your hands-on expertise will support arborists in executing high-quality tree trimming, pruning, and land management tasks. Duties Assist with tree care activities including pruning, trimming, and removals to promote healthy growth and safety. Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts safely for elevated work on trees and landscape features. Support arborists with rigging tasks for safe removal or pruning of large trees or branches. Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance on tools like chainsaws, trimmers, and other tree service equipment. Help ensure safety protocols are followed during all groundskeeping activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Requirements Growing experience in horticulture, landscaping, or tree care is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Basic knowledge of tree care practices including pruning techniques and plant health fundamentals. Ability to operate equipment such as bucket trucks, lifts, and other landscaping machinery safely. Familiarity with rigging techniques used in arboriculture for lifting or removing heavy limbs or trees. Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform outdoor work in various weather conditions. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Relevant certifications such as OSHA safety training or arborist certifications are a plus but not required.
