Job Description
The grounds team shall work together to provide exceptional customer service, while maintaining presentable grounds and facilities.
Purpose of Job:
To keep the grounds and equipment in a clean and presentable atmosphereQualifications:
- Work at all times to maintain a positive image in the public view
- Must be able to fulfill responsibilities with high standards in customer service.
- Maintain a professional and personable appearance and presence.
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to use and do required maintenance to lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and weed eater.
- Be able to lift 100 pounds.
- Must be highly organized with attention to detail and have a valid driver's license.
Task and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the grounds to ensure the grass is mowed and all trash is picked up so that the grounds look neat and clean for the public.
- Assist in the opening and closing of grave spaces and setting vaults.
- Use of lawn mowers, leaf blowers and weed eaters to ensure that the grass is mowed and neat in appearance.
- Assist in the completion work orders for the setting of grave bases and stones; vases; opening and closing of graves; setting of vaults; etc.
- Become familiar with the different gardens
- Assist with the placement of flags throughoutcemetery for Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
- Assist with the placement of wreaths across America in December each year.
- Assist with the annual Luminary service each December.
- Assist visitors to the Gardens by answering any questions they may have, assist in locating their loved ones or directing them to the office for appropriate assistance.
- Keep the garage and outside storage areas clean and neat.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use for appropriate staff.
