Essential Job Functions:

Grounds Summer Help position will be required to assist the Grounds Crews in the daily maintenance of school grounds, landscaping, playgrounds, and parking lots. This position will be working under the supervision of the Grounds Supervisor, Grounds Crew Chiefs, and full-time Grounds Crew. All outdoor work.

Qualifications:

Proven stable employment history, maintain punctuality, excellent attendance record and motivation to consistently perform quality work Must maintain a good work ethic and willingness to follow written, verbal and demonstrated instructions Must be able to do physical labor indoors, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions Must be able to perform duties that require extensive walking, standing , repetitive arm motions, repeated lifting, reaching, twisting, bending, and turning during normal shift Must be able to operate general turf maintenance equipment (i.e. string trimmers, leaf blowers, mowers, backpack sprayers, etc.) Must be able to assist in pavement sealing and repairs; concrete pours and repairs; playground and fence repairs; building landscape walls and planting; seeding and fertilization applications; sodding and sprigging operations; parking lot striping and painting Must be able to use a variety of hand tools (i.e. shovels, rakes, posthole diggers, etc.) Must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to understand and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, for all job-related duties and response to safety emergencies as well as follow verbal, written, and/or demonstrated instruction Must be able to pass thorough background investigation, physical, and drug test Positions start June 1 and run through August 7 Email To A Friend Print Version Postings current as of 4/29/2026 1:36:59 AM CST.
