Estate Gardener

Job Description:

A private estate in Flowood, Mississippi is currently seeking a full-time Estate Gardener. The Estate Gardener is responsible for day-to-day help in maintaining the gardens and grounds and reports directly to the Head Gardener.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform landscaping garden tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, mulching and planting.
• Assist in the care and maintenance of all garden and turfed areas.
• Building maintenance; changing light bulbs and air filters, moving furniture, cleaning exteriors, pressure washing, etc.
• Helping with the maintenance and care of the estates apiary.
• Repairing irrigation as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work outside year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Work from 7am-3pm Monday through Friday, and be able to work occasional overtime.
• Must be able to follow instructions, take initiative, and work independently as well as part of a team. Show up with an enthusiastic attitude ready to accomplish the day's work.
• Working knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance.
• Experience operating and maintaining power equipment such as garden vehicles, tractors, lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers is a plus.
• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, be dependable, and have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Candidates must have a clear criminal background check.
