Job Description

Summary We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals for seasonal positions at the Hamilton School District. The Summer Grounds role involves maintaining the appearance and functionality of the outdoor areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors and contribute to the upkeep of the district's facilities during the summer months. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and planting flowers and shrubs.
  • Maintain and repair outdoor equipment, tools, and machinery as needed.
  • Assist in the upkeep of walking paths, parking lots, and other outdoor areas to ensure safety and accessibility.
  • Monitor and report any issues related to grounds maintenance.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute special projects.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required. Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years old; prior experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • A valid driver's license may be required for certain responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of basic gardening techniques and equipment operation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board Policy.
