Job Description
Position Summary The Mowing & Miscellaneous Services Crew Member supports seasonal and as-needed property services across residential and commercial accounts. This role assists with mowing during peak or gap periods and performs one-time or specialty services such as dethatching, field mowing, bed spraying, and cleanups. This position requires flexibility, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate lawn and landscape equipment while maintaining company quality and professionalism. Service DeliveryMowing & Turf Services Learn, follow, and enforce all company standards, procedures, and client-specific requirements. Safely and properly operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, aerators, dethatchers, and other landscape equipment. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company safety procedures. Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing services on residential and commercial properties as scheduled. Assist with peak-season mowing coverage, make-up routes, and temporary route support. Perform one-time and specialty mowing services including dethatching, field mowing, bagged mowing, and one-time mow requests. Perform site completion checks to ensure properties are clean, professional, and complete. Perform and oversee quality mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing services to company standards. Miscellaneous & Specialty Services Assist with or perform bed spraying and bed maintenance when assigned. Support seasonal cleanups, debris removal, and property preparation services. Assist other divisions such as spraying or irrigation operations as needed. Follow assigned scopes of work and communicate any site issues or additional service needs to the Operations Manager. Communication Report hazards, incidents, property damage, client concerns, or equipment issues promptly to Operations Manager. Communicate clearly and positively with others to support efficient daily operations. Assist the Operations Manager with distributing daily weather and route updates to crews. Customer Service Maintain positive client relationships through professional appearance, courteous interactions, and clean job sites. Direct client questions to appropriate staff. Assist with handling customer concerns, requests, and service follow-ups. Review and help resolve customer feedback and field notes in coordination with the Lawn Care Operations Manager. Represent the company professionally on job sites, while driving, and while on the clock. Team Management Participate in morning huddles and end-of-week debriefs with the Operations Manager. Lead, train, and support crew members to meet daily schedules and quality standards. Promote and model a positive, safety-focused team environment. Communicate crew concerns, performance issues, or training needs to the Operations Manager. Respond to in-field crew questions and issues as the subject matter expert (SME). Support Operations Manager with route/schedule efficiency improvements. Reporting & Analysis Track route start and stop times for hourly or non-routine services as required. Document completed jobs, site conditions, and service notes accurately. Maintenance Perform daily equipment checks on mowers, trucks, trailers, and handheld tools. Oversee blade sharpening, mower cleaning, and routine upkeep. Assist with shop organization and equipment cleaning. Perform preventive maintenance tasks, light repairs and quick fixes (filters, greasing, tire pressure) as directed by Operations Manager. Maintain clean, organized trucks and trailers free of debris and trash. Qualifications Previous lawn care, landscaping, or grounds maintenance experience is required. Willingness to learn mowing, turf care, and specialty service techniques. Ability to safely operate lawn and landscape equipment (training provided). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred; must be 21 or older to drive company vehicles or tow trailers. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more.
