Performs intermediate work performing a variety of landscape and grounds maintenance duties that include mowing, trimming, edging, spraying and debris removal to ensure beatification of parks and greenways. Follows guidelines set in turf management program. Duties also include seeding, fertilizing, irrigation, mulching, aeration and sodding. This position reports to the Athletic & Grounds Supervisor. Requires moderate supervision on work guided by policies and precedents. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. A SAMPLE OF THE ESSENTIALS
Performs duties including mowing, weed eating, operating chainsaws, pruning and trimming at parks and greenways, removal of trash and debris from the grounds and removal of leaves. Makes visual checks of parks and greenways and reports any issues or safety concerns. Performs operational checks on equipment and vehicles; preforms minor preventive maintenance such as changing filters, blades and belts; makes some repairs. Assists other teams with larger projects. Sets up for events in which tables or chairs are needed; sets up for special events and festivals. Assists with storm cleanup such as snow removal or fallen trees and debris removal.
