Responsibilities Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to maintain healthy, vibrant lawns. Execute landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, trimming trees and shrubs, planting flowers, and mulching to keep landscapes thriving. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for planting, pruning, edging, and other landscaping tasks. Assist with installation of hardscape features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and garden beds using appropriate tools and techniques. Conduct irrigation system installation and maintenance to ensure proper watering of all landscaped areas. Support snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible. Collaborate with team members on construction projects involving excavation with equipment like excavators or other machinery as needed. Maintain equipment through regular inspections and cleaning to ensure optimal performance during all landscaping activities. Qualifications Proven experience in landscaping or related outdoor maintenance roles preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued. Mechanical knowledge related to garden machinery, power tools, irrigation systems, and construction equipment such as excavators. Knowledge of lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and pest control. Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques including pruning, tree care (trimming), gardening, and hardscape installation. Ability to operate hand tools (shovels, rakes) and power tools safely and effectively. Basic understanding of horticulture principles to promote healthy plant growth. Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy materials when necessary.
