Job Title:

Grounds Maintenance Worker Newark ,NJ 1st shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM 1-hour unpaid lunch We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of campus grounds and outdoor spaces. Responsibilities Perform general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, trimming, edging, trash removal, recycling, leaf removal, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, mulching, and watering Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees as needed Perform topsoil installation, grading, and establish lawns from seed and sod Operate walk-behind power equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers, and trimmers Perform snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, and snow plows Install and maintain items such as street signs, poles, parking bumpers, trash containers, and snow fences Set up and break down equipment for special events (bleachers, chairs, platforms, etc.) Essential Skills Ability to perform general groundskeeping and landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, mulching, pruning, and watering. Experience using walk-behind power equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers, and trimmers. Capability to perform snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, and snow vehicles or plows. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly. Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, with occasional indoor work as required. Experience with cleaning and maintenance of parking decks and lots. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.22 - $17.00/hr.
