Groundskeeper / Porter

Job description Large Real Estate Development and Property Management organization based in New Jersey is looking for a full-time and/or seasonal Laborer for residential apartment complex in Wharton, NJ. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Laborer's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintain specific and designated grounds area free of trash and debris. Seasonal groundskeeping, including leaf blowing, mulching, hedge trimming, planting flowers, weeding, etc. Keep areas around trash dumpsters free from debris, furniture and other bulk waste disposed of by tenants. All bulk waste to be loaded on trucks for transport and placement in roll-off containers for removal. Clear apartments of trash and debris left by tenants to be removed from first or second floor apartments. Trash to be transported and placed in roll-off containers. Clean apartments of construction debris and waste material after apartment complex maintenance staff refurbishes and renovates vacated apartments. After all debris and waste are removed apartments, the apartments need to be cleaned of construction dust prior to painting. Remove from first or second floor apartments old and non-functioning appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, air conditioners and ovens and place in roll-off containers for proper disposal. Deliver new and replacement appliances to apartments on the first or second floor. Removal of snow and distribution of salt as needed on all outdoor walkways, stairs, stoops, and other common areas. Execute any and all other assignments that may be issued from time to time by their supervisor.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Needs to have the ability to transport and move heavy items (i.e., appliances, tools, materials, furniture) to and from both first floor and second floor apartments. Needs to have the ability to climb ladders and work safely. Needs to have the ability to get into crawl spaces. Needs to have the ability to remove snow in their assigned buildings and maintain safe conditions of sidewalks, steps and building entrances during freezing weather. Needs to have a valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, squat, open doors, climb/ descend stairs. Walk jobsite daily, frequent each unit/ roof/ garage/ parameter of building to ensure facility safe practices and schedule maintenance. Climb up to 6' ladder as needed.

ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY

Is reliable and consistently at work and on time. Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Accomplishes projects and tasks within established deadlines.

From $18.00 per hour
