Driver's License Full Job Description Position Summary:
La Luz is adding to our Groundskeeping team! We are seeking a motivated and resourceful Groundskeeper to maintain the grounds of our townhome campus. This role can be seasonal (full or part time) or permanent (full time). Reporting to the Grounds Manager, the main responsibility is to complete grounds grooming, maintenance and repair tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
To keep the campus looking its best and La Luz functioning efficiently, you will: Care for turf, trees, and plantings. This includes mowing, trimming, pruning, hand weeding and weed control (may apply pesticides). Maintain hardscape areas, including gravel, sidewalks, and firebreaks. Keep the irrigation system running smoothly and attend to leaks, clogged valves, etc. when they occur. Assist with fountain care including frequent cleaning, setting pump timers and seasonal start-up and winterization. Assist with swimming pool maintenance. Maintain cleanliness of the pool area, including restrooms. Trash and debris collection and clearing across the property.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma required; prefer trades certification or other post-High School education Minimum of 2 years' experience as a groundskeeping/landscaping crew member, or similar role Experience in operating grounds equipment, tools and machinery (mowers, trimmers, work utility vehicle) Experience with irrigation systems
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Verbal and written English communication; interview will be conducted in English Ability to take direction, and accurately and efficiently complete tasks in a quality manner Physical demands: Work most of the day outdoors in all seasons Operate a work utility vehicle (Gator), mowers, and other landscape grooming tools Walk our large campus Lift 50 lbs. Work on a ladder Climb, bend, reach, sit, dig and lift Other requirements: Legally authorized to work in the US Valid Driver's license and use of a suitable vehicle Pass a drug test and background check

La Luz del Oeste is a 96-unit townhouse development designed in the late 1960s by award-winning architect Antoine Predock. ​Our adobe homes are clustered on a parcel of developed land with an additional approximately 40 acres of open space, for a total of 60 acres which we own and care for as a community, next to the Rio Grande bosque. We take pride in our community and our communal spaces: plazas, fountains, gardens, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. ​La Luz was added to The State of New Mexico Register of Cultural properties in 1977 and The National Register of Historic Places in 2023.
