Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hands-on Groundskeeper / Estate Maintenance Attendant to support the smooth running of a large private residence. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety in daily tasks, and thrives in a team environment while respecting the privacy of the household.
Responsibilities:
Property & Outdoor Care Maintain the swimming pool and hot tub: daily cleaning, chemical checks, equipment cleaning and maintenance oversight. Mow lawns, trim hedges, weed, water, and maintain landscaping as directed. Keep patios, driveways, decks, and walkways clean and safe (sweeping, power washing, leaf removal). Monitor and clear bugs and pests, outdoor vents, and rooflines seasonally. Inspect and replace exterior lighting and perform small paint/repair touch-ups. Indoor & General Maintenance Clean and replace air conditioning filters; vacuum vents.
Handle minor handyman tasks:
tightening fixtures, unclogging drains, patching small areas, light painting. Assist with moving heavy items, furniture, or setup for household needs/events. Provide "Honey-Do List" support across the property for small repairs and improvements. Deep clean hard-to-reach areas (fans, chandeliers, skylights, basements, ceiling trim). Vehicles & Errands Keep household vehicles in top condition through cleaning, fueling, and basic checks. Drive cars to service appointments, mechanics, smog tests, or fueling stations. Vendor & Team Support Supervise outside vendors (pool techs, pest control, HVAC technicians etc.) as needed. Report issues promptly to the House Manager and work in coordination with the household team. Maintain open, respectful communication while ensuring total household privacy and discretion. Seasonal & As-Needed Duties Prepare outdoor spaces and furniture for seasonal changes. Assist with lots of moving and installing holiday décor, storm prep, or other special projects. Support firewood storage, pest checks, or other seasonal maintenance.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in grounds keeping, property maintenance, or a handyman role. Practical skills in minor household repairs and upkeep. Valid driver's license with a clean record. Able to lift heavy objects, perform physical tasks and work outdoors in all seasons. Reliable, punctual, discreet, and able to work well within a small team. Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative. Position requires occasional (20%) travel within the local area, traveling to office and business locations to conduct transactions. This involves exposure to weather conditions, traveling distances to and from residence, and operating a vehicle. Ability to Comply to the Company Drug and Alcohol Policy as a requirement of a position that could adversely affect the safety of others.
