Groundsman

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundsman to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining safe, clean, and attractive outdoor spaces across district properties, supporting a positive environment for students, staff, and the community. Position Summary The Groundsman is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of school grounds, including lawns, athletic fields, parking areas, and walkways. This position plays a vital role in ensuring district facilities are well-maintained and visually appealing year-round. Key Responsibilities Mow, trim, and maintain lawns, fields, and landscaped areas Prepare and maintain athletic fields for seasonal use Perform planting, pruning, fertilizing, and general landscaping duties Remove snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and parking lots Operate and maintain grounds equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and plows Assist with minor repairs to outdoor structures, fencing, and equipment Collect and dispose of debris, leaves, and trash from grounds Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of equipment Support custodial or maintenance staff as needed Other duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related field preferred Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment Basic knowledge of lawn care, landscaping practices, and seasonal maintenance Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Valid driver's license Interest applicants should send their resume and letter of interest to employment@rcscsd.org. $43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
