Grounds Assistant

Position Summary:

The Grounds Assistant plays a vital role in the maintenance, enhancement, and overall presentation of the grounds and facilities at Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve. This position works collaboratively with management and staff to support the development, installation, and upkeep of gardens, exhibits, and infrastructure, as well as preparation for programs and special events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, routine landscape maintenance (such as mowing, trimming, and trail care), basic repairs and improvements to grounds and facilities, exhibit installation and upkeep, painting, and seasonal property preparation. The Grounds Assistant is expected to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and priorities as needs evolve throughout the year. This position represents Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve through a commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and positive engagement with staff, volunteers, and visitors, contributing to a welcoming and well-maintained environment for all. Position Responsibilities /

Duties:

⧫ Works with the Managers to support the upkeep of facilities and grounds. ⧫ Mowing, weedwhipping, maintaining trails, painting, installation, facility rental setups, etc. ⧫ Collaborate with other staff &volunteers to install seasonal exhibits. ⧫ Assist with general grounds maintenance, cleaning & organizing. ⧫ Other miscellaneous grounds duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

⧫ Be able to work outside in an assortment of weather conditions. ⧫ Creative problem-solving. ⧫ The ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of people, staff, volunteers & visitors. ⧫ General mechanical knowledge and experience ⧫ Be physically fit, able to occasionally lift to 50 lbs. ⧫ Maintain organized equipment, supplies and cleanliness of work areas. ⧫ Willingness to learn, train and grow based on project requirements. ⧫ Positive, hardworking, and good attention to detail. ⧫ Ability to work in a team environment. ⧫ Ability to work flexible hours. ⧫ Artistic & creative is a plus. Pay:

$13.00 - $15.00 per hour
