Job Description

Claremont Golf Club is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance and equipment operations that support our golf course and related facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for keeping equipment, grounds support systems, and the maintenance shop safe, efficient, and operating at a high standard while helping operational staff deliver an excellent experience for members and guests. Position Overview The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the repair, service, and preventive maintenance of golf course equipment and related machinery, including mowers, utility vehicles, small engines, and specialty turf equipment. This role works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to support daily operations, coordinate equipment readiness, and maintain strong course conditions throughout the season. The successful candidate will also help support maintenance staff, reinforce safe work practices, manage parts and supply inventory, and maintain accurate service records. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically skilled, organized, proactive, and comfortable working in both a shop and outdoor golf course environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain golf course equipment and machinery.
  • Implement and oversee a preventive maintenance program for the equipment fleet.
  • Set up and prepare equipment for daily golf course operations.
  • Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and repair documentation.
  • Manage parts, supplies, fuel, fluids, and related inventory.
  • Keep the maintenance facility clean, safe, and organized.
  • Train and support staff in proper equipment operation, care, and safety procedures as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding equipment status and operational needs.
  • Provide on-course support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Perform light welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications when appropriate.
  • Work on mechanical pumps for water features and other light mechanical repair
  • Management of the Building and facilities in the Maintenance Area Qualifications
  • Experience repairing and maintaining golf course equipment, turf equipment, or similar small engine and light equipment fleets.
  • Strong working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engines.
  • Experience with reel and rotary mower setup and sharpening is preferred.
  • Ability to organize service records, manage inventory, and follow maintenance schedules.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, train, and work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time well, and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Schedule and Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position based at Claremont Golf Club in Bethany, Oregon. The schedule generally includes early morning to mid-afternoon weekday hours, with weekend and holiday work as needed based on course and seasonal demands. Work is performed in the maintenance shop and on the golf course, with regular exposure to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, fumes, and vibration. Compensation and Benefits Compensation will be competitive and based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include fully paid medical coverage, paid time off, retirement plan participation, and golf-related employee privileges including free play based on availability.
