EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Tigard takes great pride in its parks and trail systems. The Parks Division plays an integral role in maintaining, repairing, and developing neighborhood parks, community parks, natural areas and trail systems. Planting trees, pruning trees, removing hazardous trees. Irrigating, mowing, fertilizing, and renovating turfgrass; planting, fertilizing and pruning shrubs. Operating specialized vehicles and heavy equipment (such as aerial lift trucks, production mowers) related to the maintenance and repair of City parks. Installing, inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining park equipment, playgrounds, restroom facilities, and grounds to ensure safe user experiences. Maintaining park appearance - graffiti and trash removal and vandalism repair. Participates in programming, installing, troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems.

Generally, working days are Monday-Friday 8 hour days, occasionally weekends with advanced notice.
Additional Information:
The successful candidate will pass a physical capacities test designed to evaluate ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job.
