Job Description

PORTER - GROUNDSKEEPER
Company is seeking an immediate position for Groundskeeper / Porter for our apartment community located in Pittsburgh, PA. Position Overview - Groundskeepers/Porters, under the supervision of the Property Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor, are responsible for the general cleanliness of all assigned work areas. Duties include, but not limited to: Checks and replaces exterior lighting on a regular basis. If certified for pool maintenance, clean and maintain pool as directed. Maintains awareness of proper safety precautions at all times. Constantly observes condition of apartment property throughout the community and immediately reports and/or initiates action to correct unsafe conditions. Needs to be aware of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, sewer clean outs. Ensures that storage areas remain locked when not in use. Physically walks the community on a frequent basis and removes litter, debris and pet droppings from the grounds. Performs "trash-out" duties at vacated apartments on a daily basis. Removes all abandoned furniture, trash, and boxes. Transfers to dumpster or storage area, whichever is applicable. Transfers trash and other items left outside of dumpster in to dumpster. Pick-up and sweep area. Keeps dumpster doors closed on windy days Details community on a regular basis.
Cleans and rakes shrub areas:
shovels mud when necessary. Use blower to keep sidewalks and walking areas clean of loose grass and brush. Repairs and replaces windows, screens, sliding glass doors, etc. Performs routine maintenance in community as requested by property manager and maintenance supervisor. Assists with various physical tasks as directed; e.g., tearing down fences, digging post holes, carrying abandoned sofas, etc. Assists with "make-ready" duties when requested by the property manager or maintenance supervisor. Helps clean and maintain storage areas. Performs interior and exterior painting duties when requested. Completes minor and routine service requests when requested by manager and/or maintenance supervisor. Follow procedures when service requests are performed. Change locks, make keys when directed.
Physical Demands and Requirements:
Able to physically perform the following duties for prolonged periods of time: Unassisted lifting up to 50 pounds Bending Walking Kneeling Stretching Able to work on step ladders or extension ladders up to 30 feet Able to work in confined spaces, indoors and outdoors in all climates, and unclean environments with fumes, dust and poor ventilation while adhering to company safety requirements and programs Able to perform all duties in a safe manner at all times Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle to drive between properties as needed Our benefits include: Commissions & Bonuses, Health Insurance, Paid Training, Opportunities for Growth.
