Duties Perform lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aerating to keep turf healthy and lush. Operate hand tools and power tools safely for planting, trimming, pruning, and general landscape maintenance. Use machinery such as excavators and snow plows to assist with construction projects or seasonal clean-up. Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and health assessments to promote safety and growth. Install irrigation systems to ensure efficient watering of landscaped areas. Support gardening efforts by planting new vegetation and caring for existing flora to enhance aesthetic appeal. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various landscaping equipment and tools safely. Expertise in lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and pest control. Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques for gardens, lawns, trees, and hardscape features. Experience with landscaping design principles and construction projects involving hardscape elements. Proficiency in using hand tools (shovels, pruners) and power tools (trimmers, blowers) efficiently. Familiarity with tree care practices such as trimming, pruning, and health assessments. Ability to perform irrigation installation and maintenance for sustainable watering solutions. Understanding of horticulture principles to support plant health and landscape aesthetics. Capability to operate heavy machinery like excavators when needed for larger projects or site preparation. Flexibility to handle seasonal tasks such as snow plowing during winter months.
