POSITION OBJECTIVE
This hands-on role supports daily operations and long-term preservation goals by ensuring the functionality, safety, and integrity of the facilities. The ideal candidate brings a well-rounded skill set in mechanical, electrical, landscaping, carpentry, and basic plumbing, along with a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the property using a work order/ticketing system. Knowledge and repair basic mechanical equipment. Regular upkeep of grounds and landscaping. Maintain electrical systems, including lighting, outlets, breakers, and wiring, in compliance with safety standards. Execute repairs in carpentry tasks. Conduct plumbing repairs, including leak fixes, drain clearing, and water system maintenance. Complete and document preventive maintenance tasks on schedule. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, including after-hours as needed. Support seasonal projects, special events, and preservation efforts. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Technical or trade school certification preferred. Experience working on historic properties is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in landscaping, carpentry, and plumbing systems. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Availability to work weekends and holidays.
