Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining the grounds, plants, and other indoor/ outdoor spaces of the Seabrook. Ensure curb appeal, making sure plants grow well in their assigned area as well as cleaning up debris around the property.
Minimum Requirements:
A general and competent knowledge of Horticulture/landscaping is a must.
Preferred NOT Required:
3-5 years' experience in grounds maintenance/landscaping commercial property Formal education or certification in arboriculture, landscape design, or horticulture Certified pool operations license
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for organizing, planning, and performing grounds services following The Seabrook guidelines and operating within budget Regularly communicates with residents as necessary to maintain a high-level responsiveness to needs and requests Assigns spots to Residents in the resident garden area Uses tools to complete landscaping work necessary not covered under contracts Gutter cleaning Monitors sidewalks and roads for safety hazards, upon finding such hazards, immediately safeguards public area from public, appropriately addressing repairs Attends and participates in all staff meetings and activities open to employees. Responsible for reading, understanding and following the Seabrook Inclement Weather Plan. Maintains, repairs, and replaces street signage on campus. Repaints, as needed, all parking stall stripes, road centerlines, speed bumps, curb cuts, and handicap spaces. Repaints, as necessary, all metal street, and walkway lights. Set up all outdoor holiday decorations, and indoor displays. Keeps MSDS notebook current. Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical Requirements
- Capable of working extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
- Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
- Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.
- Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day.
- Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
- Must have finger dexterity for holding utensils, equipment, and other tools. Environmental Requirements
- Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and professionally under such circumstances.
- For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
- Must be able to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
