The first phase of Black Creek's mountain top development, known as The Pass, is currently under construction and will include more than 200 new homes. Later phases will include over a thousand new homes, a small community village, and several amenities. Black Creek Community Association in Chattanooga, TN is looking for a full-time landscape laborer. Pre-employment background check and drug screening required. The Laborer role is responsible for assisting the Landscape Foreman with all general landscaping maintenance and land management responsibilities for a local Chattanooga residential community.

Duties:

General landscape maintenance and land management responsibilities for a residential community and development include but are not limited to:

• Native habitat management and restoration
• Waterway restoration
• Watering plants frequently during drought
• Identifying and removing invasive plants
• Hand weeding
• Erosion control
• Planting native perennials, trees and shrubs
• Tree and shrub pruning
• Mulching
• Trail maintenance and building
• Land clearing
• Storm water management
• Clear fallen trees
• Litter and debris collection
• Native and cover seed sowing
• Laying sod
• Some mowing, string trimming/edging & leaf blowing
• Assisting with other landscape duties under the supervision of the

Landscaping Foreman Skills:

• General knowledge of landscaping maintenance and land management
• Related Commercial or Residential Landscaping Experience
• Time Management skills
• Oral Communication skills

Job Requirements:

• Possess a Valid Driver's License and be able to operate a vehicle.
• Must be at least 17 years old
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
• Must be able to stand and walk for long extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds at times.
• Must be able to work a variety of hours to accommodate workflow.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch, using hands and fingers for detailed work.
• The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, rain, wind, etc.; ability to work outdoors.
• Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
