Landscaping & Groundskeeper:
The Landscaping & Groundskeeper supports the Cisco College mission by maintaining a clean, safe, and visually appealing campus environment. This position is responsible for the upkeep of landscaping, grounds, and outdoor facilities at the Abilene campus.
Landscaping & Groundskeepers Team:
The Groundskeeper works collaboratively with the Physical Plant Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and campus personnel.
Responsibilities:
Maintain campus grounds through mowing, trimming, and weed control Operate and maintain irrigation systems Maintain signage and parking lot striping Maintain outdoor furniture and décor Trim trees, shrubs, and landscaping Operate mowing equipment safely Maintain equipment performance
Effective:
April 2026 Apply pesticides per safety standards Replace plants and perform seasonal planting Remove trash and maintain cleanliness Support campus projects Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Experience with sprinkler systems or willingness to learn Ability to operate equipment Effective communication skills Ability to work outdoors Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Landscaping experience Small engine repair Irrigation knowledge
Posting and Application Details:
The Landscaping & Groundskeeper position is based on the Abilene campus. Occasional travel to and from campuses may be required. It is a full-time, 12-month position. Cisco College offers a generous benefit package, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. Member-only medical coverage and $5,000 of basic term life is provided at no cost to the employee. Other coverages are selected by the employee and payment made through payroll deduction. Cisco College offers retirement savings such as Teacher Retirement System or Option Retirement Plan - for qualified positions. Twelve-month employees also receive both sick and vacation leave on a month-to-month basis.
