Maintaining the grounds of Mo-Ranch including planting, irrigation, pest control, fertilizer, herbicide, road repair, and trimming and removing trees. The position also requires maintaining equipment and assisting with development of special projects.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Keep the grounds clean and in good appearance, mowing and weed eating on a regular basis. 2. Maintain irrigation of ranch lawns and gardens, this includes watering during night hours as watering main lawns cannot be accomplished when lawns are in use. 3. Dispense fertilizer, herbicide, pre-emergents and pesticides as needed on specific schedule. 4. Planting and maintaining trees and gardens, paying particular attention to plantings in the Tree Memorial Program. 5. Maintenance and cleanliness of the ground's vehicles and equipment; keep and maintain in good operating condition. 6. Tree trimming and removal, including the disposal of debris from cedar cutting projects and tree removal projects. 7. Assist with special projects such as playground improvement, installing new irrigation systems, and design and construction of landscaping projects 8. Cut, split and distribute firewood to all building with operating fireplaces and set up bonfires and barbecues at the riverfront. 9. Help and assist other maintenance personnel when needed. 10. Be willing to work overtime when needed. 11. Work closely with guests, group/seminar directors, volunteers, and other staff members. 12. Within the line of work, drive a Mo-Ranch vehicle on public roads as well as Mo-Ranch property. 13. Perform other duties as may be assigned by manager. 14. Pickup and deposit the trash in a clean and sanitary manner. 15. This position requires regular and predictable attendance as an essential function of the job.QUALIFICATION STANDARDS 1.
Ability to read, speak, and understand English. 2. Knowledge of chemicals used for fertilizer, pesticide, and herbicide. 3. Experience of use and maintenance of lawn care equipment. 4. Experience in the safe and proper use of scaffolding and ladders. 5. Ability and willingness to do a variety of jobs under little or no supervision. 6. Ability to readily learn, comprehend, and apply general maintenance procedures, and upkeep. 7. Ability to work well with others, including volunteers and guests as well as other staff members. Grounds Worker 06/15/2020 8. Ability to drive a Mo-Ranch vehicle and maintain such driver certification and eligibility as required by the insurance carrier. 9. Willingness to accept other assigned duties. 10. Ability to lift, carry, and push a minimum of 50 pounds. 11. Ability to stand, walk around, and otherwise remain on one's feet for prolonged periods of time. 12. Experience with and knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferred. 13. Respect for the mission of Mo-Ranch. Grooming & Uniform All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Distinctive dress (uniform) must be worn while on duty. Physical Requires grasping, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and good speaking skills. Must be able to squat, bend, kneel, climb, and reach. Ability to push, lift, pull, and carry a minimum of thirty (30) pounds. Work Schedule Must be available to work weekends and holidays and be flexible with working hours. Personal Good moral character and high degree of honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity. Possess and demonstrate a positive attitude to guests, supervisors, peers, and fellow employees. Good driving record, able to meet the driving requirements set forth by the insurance carrier.
