Groundskeeper/Caretaker Newark, TX Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the complete care of Parsonage buildings, equipment and landscaping
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mowing, weeding, edging, fertilizing, insect treatment and watering of parsonage property. Tree trimming. Maintain landscaping, flower gardens, shrubs, vegetable gardens, orchards, etc. Operate light duty equipment. Maintenance of landscape equipment. Installment and maintenance of plant materials (trees, grass, shrubs, bedding, etc) and hardscape (walls, edging, etc) Repair and maintenance of parsonage property, outbuildings and grounds. Miscellaneous labor (such as cleaning porches, walkways, driveways, garages, boats soffits, trash removal, etc) Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. 5 years' experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of maintenance and installing irrigation systems. Working knowledge of soil and lawn conditions. Able to work alone with minimal supervision. Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines Available on call 24 hours a day
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
Tractors, mowers, edger's, weed-eaters, saws and various hand tools.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to lift 75 to 100 pounds Able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold)
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Produce quality work and accept changes in production and timelines. Keep an eye on all plants for health conditions and determine watering, fertilizer and chemical applications schedule.
