Groundskeeper-Associate (Entry Level) UT Health Science Center at San Antonio - 3.5 San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time 11 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Job Description Under direct supervision, responsible for providing routine semi-skilled landscaping and care in the maintenance of the grounds. Upkeeps and cultures lawn, plants, hedges, trees, and general maintenance of grounds. Responsibilities Mows, trims, and edges turf grass areas. Prunes trees and trim shrubs. Grades, seeds and lays sod. Grades, lays out, replaces, tends and maintains flowerbeds or other decorative landscaping. Installs, maintains and performs minor repairs of irrigation systems. Maintains walkways, driveways and parking lots to include removing ice and snow. Maintains grounds clean and reports broken or leaking hydrants, faulty sprinkler system equipment and any unsightly plant or material conditions on the grounds. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Applies basic and develops advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization. Performs more advanced functions as part of training and development. Resolves routine questions and problems, and refers complex issues to higher levels. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic knowledge of landscaping methods and techniques. Familiarity in operation of equipment. Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Time management skills. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED is required.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION
Valid TX Driver's License is required - must have a clear driving record. This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas
EO-GA-48.
