  • Part-time, Full-time About the Position 4 Harts Ranch is an owner-operated working ranch located near Strawn in Eastland County, Texas — approximately 90 acres of West Texas land used for cattle, wildlife, recreation, and ongoing property improvements.
We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated ranch hand to assist with routine livestock care, land maintenance, and property upkeep on a part-time to full-time basis. Responsibilities Livestock Care Feed, water, and general daily care of 4 head of cattle (quantity will increase) Monitor herd health and report any concerns to property owner Land & Property Maintenance Mend and maintain fencing across the property Mow pastures and maintained areas using tractor, zero-turn mower, and walk-behind equipment Weedeat around structures, fences, and landscape features Clear brush and trees as directed Maintain pond banks and water features Hunting & Recreational Support Relocate and service deer feeders and deer stands Assist with seasonal hunting prep and property setup General Ranch Duties Complete various property tasks as assigned by the owner Operate and maintain ranch equipment in a safe and responsible manner Report equipment issues and maintenance needs promptly Required Experience & Skills Demonstrated experience operating a front-end loader and tractor Proficiency with brush hog / rotary cutter attachments Competent with zero-turn mower and string trimmer/weedeater Working knowledge of basic fence repair (barbed wire, T-posts, wooden posts) Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision Reliable transportation to the Strawn, TX area Physically able to perform outdoor manual labor in varying weather conditions Preferred (Not Required) Experience with cattle handling and basic livestock health Familiarity with West Texas terrain and ranching practices Experience with deer feeder systems and wildlife management Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting Schedule & Compensation Part-time to full-time hours; hours and schedule will be determined based on experience and fit — with potential to grow into a full-time role Work is performed on-site at the ranch near Strawn, TX Compensation is $20
