Stall Cleaner / Barn Maintenance Job Description Our Horse Motel ranch hosts approximately 1,250 horses each year and maintains a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation for both horses and guests. Stalls need to be cleaned every morning By 12:00 at the latest. Expect to come in 5-7 days a week. It takes about 4 hours to clean a full barn. Pay is $5.00 a stall, averaging about $500-$600 a month. Primary Responsibilities Clean stalls promptly after horses check out Remove manure, wet bedding, hay, and debris from stalls Add fresh shavings as needed to maintain clean, comfortable stalls Empty, clean, and refill water buckets in each stall Blow debris, dust, hay, and dirt out of barn aisles and common areas using a blower Clean up hay, shavings, manure, or messes left by arrivals and departures surrounding the barn Wipe down and clean stall doors when dusty or dirty Keep Kubota and Bobcat patios clean and organized Maintain cleanliness of front and back patios and common ranch areas Ensure all run doors and outside stall doors are properly closed and latched when not in use Pick up garbage and debris throughout the property whenever seen Return tools, hoses, equipment, and supplies to their proper locations after use Expectations Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation Be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision Notice and address small issues before they become larger problems Work efficiently while paying attention to detail Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and horses Pick up garbage in the vicinity of the barn.
Note:
everyone helps with this effort. Blow barn debris from the outside perimeter toward the middle, then sweep and pick up debris from the middle to reduce buildup around the perimeter. Check in with the Ranch phone nightly. The Ranch phone will advise the number of stalls needed for the next day. Reliability, consistency, and pride in the appearance of the ranch are extremely important in this role.
