Job Description
Owl Hollow Farm is a beautiful 120-acre property in Floyd, VA that includes pastures, barns, landscaped areas, a spring-fed pond, and surrounding woodland. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper / Landscaping Technician to maintain and improve the appearance, health, and functionality of the farm's grounds. This role is responsible for landscaping, lawn care, pasture maintenance, tree and shrub care, and general outdoor property upkeep. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining beautiful land, and is comfortable operating landscaping equipment. Key Responsibilities:
Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance- Mow lawns, fields, and landscaped areas across the property
- Trim shrubs, hedges, and small trees
- Maintain flower beds, landscaping features, and decorative plants
- Plant trees, shrubs, grass, and seasonal plants as needed
- Apply mulch, fertilizer, and soil treatments when necessary
- Maintain gravel paths, driveways, and outdoor areas Pasture and Land Management
- Maintain pastures through mowing, brush clearing, and weed control
- Assist with fence-line clearing and maintenance
- Maintain drainage systems and prevent water pooling or erosion
- Help maintain the cleanliness and health of the spring-fed pond and surrounding areas Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Operate landscaping equipment such as zero-turn mowers, tractors, brush cutters, chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers
- Maintain and clean landscaping tools and equipment
- Perform minor repairs and report equipment issues Property Appearance and Outdoor Cleanliness
- Remove fallen branches, leaves, and debris
- Maintain outdoor common areas, patios, and walkways
- Assist with seasonal property tasks such as leaf removal, snow clearing, storm cleanup, and seasonal landscaping preparation General Farm Support
- Assist with other farm maintenance tasks when needed
- Help maintain barns, fences, and outdoor structures when requested
- Work collaboratively with the farm staff - Personal requirements: o Be invested in the farm lifestyle.
