Job Description

Yard Equipment Operator/ Yard Crew - MIDDLEBURY The Yard Equipment Operator performs tasks involving physical labor in the Precast Plant and the Precast Yard and operates a variety of equipment, hand and power tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Operate and drive yard mixer trucks, yard tractor-trailers, yard man-lifts, yard equipment, and forklifts.
  • Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials using various hand and powered lifting machines.
  • Performing manual work in preparing/repairing concrete products.
  • Maintain a clean job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Material handling and storage, including cutting pieces.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience with forklift operations, yard tractors and/or concrete self-propelled saws preferred. (no CDL Required) Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
