Delegation Horticulture Full Job Description Position Summary:
As Level-2 Garden Steward, besides the usual Garden Steward tasks (see below) they will analyze the task list for the job site by discerning what is needed in the garden, prioritize time-sensitive pruning tasks, assign tasks to other team members, and help the team stay on track to finish the established goals. Prior horticultural knowledge and experience are the key for success in this position. As the Garden Steward, they perform fine-gardening tasks such as pruning, grooming seasonal containers, weeding, fertilizing, plant health care, IPM assessment, mulching occasionally and general maintenance of the outdoor spaces.
Qualifications:
Required - 1) A background in horticulture and a comprehensive knowledge of landscape plants, best practices for planting, pruning, fertilizing and soil health. 2) A minimum of 3 years of experience as a fine-gardener. Ability to take direction, be self-sufficient, detail oriented, work quickly and efficiently. 3) Ability to work in all weather conditions in physically active tasks that includes bending, kneeling, digging, lifting, etc. Ability to lift 25-50lbs if needed (think planting compost bales). 4) Clean driver's license. A positive attitude, effective time-management and punctual. 5) Good recordkeeping and organizational skills. Must be willing to learn and use Asana for writing detailed jobsite notes and use Jobber for daily timesheet. 6) Good communication skills, customer service and social skills.
