Job DescriptionThe Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Specialist is responsible for completing GSE inspections, ensuring equipment is appropriately maintained, and ensuring third parties repair equipment in a timely and effective manner. In addition, this role will provide coaching and guidance for safe and effective use of GSE, provide recommendations and update training material,s and provide support and guidance with GSE standardization within the environment. This role interfaces frequently with multiple team members, internal and external customers, as well as various departments within the organization.

Ensure end-to-end process management of the Ground Service Equipment (GSE) process for McGee Air Services.

Ensure GSE allocations remain at required levels and escalate any equipment deficiencies to station leadership.

Ensure GSE is properly staged at gates and at remote locations to ensure safe on-time operation.

Inspect for and clean Foreign Object Debris (FOD) out of the GSE to ensure it is safe to operate.

Ensure the quality and accuracy of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) daily reports and equipment allocations.

Ensure audits are done with accuracy and in alignment with McGee standards and operating guidelines.

Complete investigations of irregularities in equipment performance, identify equipment use or service failure trends, and submit recommendations for equipment standards and process improvement.

Ensure that all identified equipment issues are properly entered into the system and scheduled for repair.

Develop relationships with GSE providers and GSE program management staff within assigned locations.

Monitor 3rd party GSE vendor performance to ensure equipment is repaired within SLA's and returned to operation in proper working condition.

Evaluate, identify, and communicate safety issues with GSE and the operating environment. Escalating as appropriate to ensure a best-in-class GSE environment.

Educate teammates on the appropriate use of equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and proper use.

Manage the equipment return to use process to ensure that when equipment returns from repair, it is in the appropriate working condition.

QualificationsGeneral understanding of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and inspection guidelines to assess fitness for operationTwo (2) years of airline experience with proven skills in station operations, including one of the following areas: cargo handling or ground operationsStrong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are requiredProfessional work ethic and demonstrated ability to work with all work groupsProven ability to work with customers, teammates, and third-party GSE vendorsAbility to work autonomously with a genuine desire to help othersAble to successfully communicate with internal and external departmentsAbility to obtain and maintain necessary Port, Customs, and DMV driving clearances for applicable credentialsFlexibility to work varied shifts to include overnights, weekends, and holidaysValid driver's licenseHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be at least 18 years of ageMust be authorized to work in the U.S.Additional InformationAirport Badge RequirementsImportant notification for roles working at or requiring access to an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge issued by the airport authority. Depending on the role you may also be required to obtain a US Customs seal and/or USPS security clearance. If an employee does not qualify for or has the necessary clearance revoked, the employee will be terminated.
