Job Description
Overview Twin Oaks Gardening is hiring a hands-on crew member for residential landscape maintenance across our client properties in Washington State. If you show up consistently, take direction well, and don't shy away from detailed ground-level work, this might be a great fit. This role centers on repetitive, physical tasks like hand weeding, edging, bed cleanup, raking — often performed for long stretches. We're looking for someone who finds satisfaction in leaving a property looking sharp, not someone who's waiting for a promotion. What the Work Actually Looks Like Hand weeding, edging, raking, and detailed bed maintenance Mulching, light pruning, and seasonal cleanup Operating hand tools (pruners, rakes, shovels) and power equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers) as directed Keeping job sites clean, safe, and organized throughout the day Following site-specific quality standards and communicating clearly with the crew lead Heads up: A significant portion of this job involves kneeling, bending, and ground-level work for extended periods. Please apply only if you're genuinely comfortable with that. What We're Looking For Dependable transportation and a track record of showing up on time Physical ability to perform repetitive outdoor work in heat, cold, and variable conditions Comfortable receiving on-the-spot feedback and adjusting quickly Commitment to safety and following standards without shortcuts Prior landscaping experience is a plus — not a requirement. We prioritize reliability and coachability. Physical Demands Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and sustained standing Lifting and carrying up to 30-40 lbs as a routine part of the job Outdoor work year-round in changing weather conditions Reasonable accommodations available consistent with the Washington Law Against Discrimination Schedule & Compensation Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00am-3:00pm PT (no weekends) Hours may shift based on workload and weather conditions Pay range: $22-$30/hour, based on reliability, skill level, and consistency, disclosed in accordance with Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunities Act Our Hiring Process Phone screen Video interview Paid working interview, a hands-on trial of core tasks (weeding, groundwork). This step is compensated and designed so both sides can confirm a genuine fit before any offer is made. Apply only if you plan to follow through on a scheduled working interview — it's a firm step in our process. Introductory Period New hires complete a 30-day introductory period. Attendance, safety, work quality, and overall fit are assessed throughout. Continued employment depends on consistently meeting Twin Oaks' standards.
