Schedule:
Full-Time, Year-Round (with occasional evenings/weekends as needed) Position Summary Faith Christian Academy, an accredited member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and participant in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP), seeks a dedicated Buildings & Grounds Technician to support the maintenance, safety, and stewardship of our campus. This role is vital to ensuring a safe, well-maintained environment that supports the school's Christ-centered mission and educational excellence. Mission Alignment All employees at Faith Christian Academy are expected to actively support and live out the school's Statement of Faith, mission, and core values. The Buildings & Grounds Technician contributes to the ministry by maintaining facilities in a manner that reflects biblical stewardship, safety, and hospitality. Essential Responsibilities Perform routine and preventative maintenance of buildings, systems, and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) Maintain campus grounds (mowing, snow removal, landscaping, waste management) Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards, including OSHA-related practices Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify repair needs or safety concerns Set up and tear down for school events, activities, and programs Maintain maintenance logs, supply inventories, and service records Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and inspectors as directed Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations Support school security protocols, including building access and monitoring Assist in long-term facilities planning and capital improvement efforts Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or related field Working knowledge of basic building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely (lawn equipment, power tools, etc.) Valid Wisconsin driver's license Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in all seasons Commitment to the school's Christian mission and statement of faith Preferred Trade certification or vocational training Experience in a school, church, or nonprofit setting Knowledge of Wisconsin building and safety codes Experience with snow/ice management in northern climates Faith & Conduct Expectations In accordance with the school's religious mission and constitutional protections for religious organizations: Employees are expected to affirm and conduct themselves in accordance with the school's Statement of Faith and biblical standards of conduct Employees serve as Christian role models in both professional and personal conduct Participation in staff devotions, prayer, and school spiritual life is expected Legal Compliance & Employment Statements Religious Organization Employment Qualification Faith Christian Academy is a religious nonprofit ministry.
