Groundskeeper

•This job opportunity is not in the classified service and is not covered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel merit system. •Early Day Shift Position. Under general supervision, duties include grounds maintenance, trimming trees, cutting grass, and cultivating plants and shrubs. Makes improvements to walks, lanes, sheds, and benches including painting and minor repairs. Performs preventive maintenance pertaining to grounds area. Requires frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. May be required to work from ladders, scaffolding, or from lift-truck. Performs other related work as required. A valid driver's license is required. Some weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) and holiday work is required. This position is an essential position and may require emergency call-outs. Pesticide applicator license preferred but not required. Training:

Must be able to pass a written test at the eighth grade level.

Experience:

Six months of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in groundskeeping work.

Special Requirement:

Possession of a valid driver's license may be required.
