Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Garden Market Associate in our Philippi store. In this role, you will assist in the daily operations of the store, perform tasks as assigned by the Garden Market Manager and ensure a welcoming environment for shoppers and vendors alike. Garden Market Associates are under the direct supervision of the Garden Market Manager. Job Duties Market Associate will have an understanding of market operating system and general procedures, including: Cash register operation and reporting software Daily bookkeeping and making deposits Grower contract/number assignment and sales tracking Produce check-in, date monitoring EBT procedures
FMNP, WIC
guidelines (include stamping of coupons); and WVDA, DHHR, health department, food safety, and other relevant guidelines Market Associate will assist in the daily operations of The Market Place and perform tasks, including: Deliver top-notch service to customers and vendors and encouraging volunteers to do the same Comply with all regulations and certifications, including food safety guidelines and the Farmer's Market Vendor Guide policies and direction Display produce, flowers, shrubbery, and other products appropriately, including proper refrigeration/storage, effective use of signage Ensure facilities are kept clean and neat and that facilities are secured upon closing Other necessary duties, as assigned by the Market Place Manager, which may include, but is not limited to sorting and packaging produce for wholesale purchases, delivering produce offsite, and preparing and processing produce for preservation or use in value-added products Market Associate may attend meetings, conferences, and training opportunities relevant to market activities Requirements Ability to work Monday-Friday, part-time hours, and fulfill schedule as assigned by manager Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and have the ability to lift 50 pounds and climb stairs Customer service experience preferred Join an organization that helps the community!
