Pay Range:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview:
BBSI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shop & Spray Technician on behalf of our client. This hands-on role involves preparing and applying protective coatings, assisting with shop operations, and maintaining equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform sanding and preparation of surfaces, including truck beds Apply protective coatings, primers, and topcoats Mix polyurethane and color products accurately Assist with accessory installation as needed Pick up and deliver vehicles as required Unload materials and accessories from delivery trucks
Shop Duties:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Sweep floors and remove debris daily Perform routine deep cleaning of shop areas Maintain spray booth (filters, floors, paper, and drapes) Keep equipment, lifts, and surrounding areas clean from overspray
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and clean spray equipment, including EXP2 machine and spray guns Perform routine and monthly maintenance on equipment and air compressors Ensure all tools and equipment are clean, functional, and ready for use
Inventory Management:
Monitor shop consumables and inventory levels Report low inventory and assist with restocking needs
Customer Service & Team Expectations:
Provide courteous and professional interactions with customers Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic Stay focused, motivated, and productive throughout the workday Work collaboratively with the team to maintain workflow and efficiency Take pride in quality workmanship and strive for excellence
Qualifications:
Previous experience in automotive, coatings, construction, or similar hands-on roles preferred Ability to perform physical labor (lifting, sanding, standing for extended periods) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to follow directions and work both independently and as part of a team Valid Oregon driver's license with a clean driving record required
