About the Position Fast Growing Trees is seeking someone with a passion for plants to join our team as a Spray Technician. The Spray Technician will assist in maintaining crop health at our Bishopville, SC location where we hold plants, over 42 acres in total. The Spray Technician will work closely with their counterparts and report to the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Application of fertilizer, granular and liquid Application of pesticide Clean and maintain spray equipment Clean and maintain PPE Mixing of chemicals Follow and practice all safety rules and regulations per FGT, State, and EPA requirements Assist other sprayers when applicable Take direction from the Sprayer Team Lead if applicable and the Production Manager Prepare proper signage for pesticide applications Assures all safety rules and policies are in place and always followed Conducts crop scouting, reporting on any IPM or irrigation related issues to supervisor Key Requirements:
Self-starter, works well under pressure, ability to multitask Computer literate, including google workspace: including but not limited to sheets and docs Ability to obtain SC Pesticide applicators license within 6 months of hire Ability to work in inclement weather Ability to pass a pulmonary and fit test for NIOSH respirators Excellent communication skills, bilingual English/Spanish preferred Other Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation Willingness to work weekends as needed Typically 40 hours a week, overtime as needed Willing to help in other areas of the nursery depending on the time of the year/season Able to repetitively bend, stretch, reach, lift, stand, and walk with unrestricted motion. Able to remain on foot for the majority of the day. Can lift 50 pounds or more with or without accommodations IPM:
