SUMMARY:
Great Lawns Turf Care is the dedicated lawn and turf division of The Greathouse Company, serving homeowners across Middle Tennessee with precision, integrity, and a personalized approach. The Turf Specialist plays a critical dual role in both field execution and business growth. This is not just a spray technician position. This is a field-based turf professional who delivers high-quality fertilizer, weed control, and turf treatments while actively driving sales and expanding our client base. You will work under the supervision of the Lead Turf Specialist while developing the skills, licensing, and sales confidence required to grow into higher levels of responsibility. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Turf Application & Field Execution:
Assist in applying fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides according to proper instructions Learn and follow accurate mixing procedures and all safety protocols Ensure accuracy, compliance, and safety in every chemical application Work toward obtaining required certifications including CO3 and HLT Maintain strict adherence to Tennessee turf licensing standards.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Safely operate sprayers and turf care equipment Clean and maintain equipment daily Report any mechanical or operational issues to the Lead Turf Specialist Arrive on-site prepared with required PPE and materials.
Business Growth & Sales Performance:
This role includes a full sales component: Help achieve budgeted sales goals through high service standards Execute consistent door-to-door lead generation including Cloverleafing Meet daily and weekly production and sales targets Take ownership of the full sales cycle and close your own lawn care sales Identify upsell opportunities such as mosquito control, aeration, tree and shrub care. Client Interaction & Relationship Building:
  • Present a professional and courteous presence on every property
  • Communicate service details confidently and clearly
  • Educate customers when appropriate and refer advanced questions to the Lead Specialist
  • Build trust through professionalism, punctuality, and consistency.
  • T his is a customer-facing role with heavy homeowner interaction
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES CHECKLIST
Arrive prepared and equipped with PPE Load trucks and stage materials Follow daily service route instructions Apply products accurately and safely Complete daily sales and lead generation efforts Clean and store equipment at the end of the day Track production and performance targets.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid driver's license required, non-negotiable Level 3 Turf Certification required as a primary qualification for this role HLT or additional certifications strongly encouraged Ability to obtain required licensing within designated timeframe Strong customer communication skills Comfortable with door-to-door lead generation and closing sales Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift 50+ lbs Dependable, punctual, and professional.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
