Turf Technician

Duties Perform routine lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding to maintain optimal turf health. Apply pest control treatments safely and effectively to protect turf from insects, weeds, and diseases. Use hand tools, power tools, farm machinery, and landscaping equipment to carry out maintenance projects efficiently. Assist with planting new turf or landscape features by preparing soil and installing sod or seed with precision. Conduct inspections of turf areas to identify issues such as pests or disease outbreaks; implement appropriate solutions promptly. Drive company vehicles to various job sites while adhering to safety protocols and traffic laws. Support the installation of irrigation systems and perform routine adjustments to ensure proper watering schedules. Collaborate with team members on larger projects involving farming techniques or landscape design enhancements. Experience Prior experience in lawn care, landscaping, agriculture, or farming is highly preferred. Knowledge of pest control methods specific to turf management is a plus. Familiarity with land management practices including soil preparation and fertilization techniques. Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners as well as power tools like trimmers and blowers confidently. Experience driving trucks or utility vehicles in a professional setting is advantageous. Basic understanding of farm machinery used in turf maintenance or land development projects is beneficial. Strong work ethic with the ability to follow safety procedures diligently while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
