This role requires someone who can be actively involved in the work while also leading the team, enforcing systems, and making sure the business runs smoothly. The right person is highly organized, reliable, comfortable holding people accountable, and able to keep operations moving even when plants, weather, staffing, and customer demand shift. This is a hands-on leadership role in a nursery with living inventory, active sales cycles, shipping deadlines, and customer care needs. This position also offers strong long-term growth potential. Responsibilities Oversee daily nursery operations including watering, pruning, pest management, propagation, and greenhouse care Manage daily and weekly operational plans Upholding systems, schedules, and SOPs across departments Identify operational gaps and help improve processes Keep the nursery clean, organized, efficient, and running on schedule Manage a small cross-functional team including plant care, shipping, live sellers, and customer care staff Set the tone for reliability, cleanliness, urgency, and consistency Communicate clearly with ownership and the team about priorities, issues, and progress Maintain quality standards for rare tropical plants, including aroids and other collector species Oversee quarantine processes, pest control protocols, and plant health routines Requirements Prior management or operations leadership experience is required. Experience leading a small team in a hands-on environment such as operations, logistics, e-commerce, agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse, or nursery work. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-through skills. Comfortable enforcing systems, standards, schedules, and accountability. Calm under pressure and able to make practical decisions in a fast-moving environment. Hands-on and willing to jump in when needed while still leading the team. Strong attention to detail, especially with plant care, inventory, and customer orders. Physically able to work in a nursery environment, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors or in greenhouse conditions. Basic math skills for inventory, measurements, supplies, fertilizer mixes, and planning. Experience with rare tropical plants, aroids, greenhouse management, or propagation is strongly preferred. Comfort with basic tools, irrigation, or nursery equipment is a plus. We specialize in rare tropical plants and collector-quality inventory, with a strong focus on plant quality, customer experience, and operational excellence.
Pay:
