The nursery is located in the Horizon West / Winter Garden area. We are looking for a Nursery Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and help continue developing and improving the nursery as we grow. This role blends operations, inventory, vendor coordination, and team leadership, with some hands-on support in the yard when needed. Responsibilities Nursery & Yard Operations Oversee daily operations of the plant nursery and material yard (trees, shrubs, groundcovers, sod, mulch, rock, etc.). Maintain a clean, organized, and clearly labeled yard that is efficient for loading, staging, and material pulls. Coordinate pulls and staging of plant material and supplies for jobs so orders are ready for pickup or delivery. Manage receiving of plants and materials; verify counts, quality, and paperwork. Inventory, Ordering & Vendors Maintain accurate inventory of plant material and landscape supplies. Plan and forecast material needs for current and upcoming projects. Request quotes, place orders, and track deliveries with growers and suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with nurseries, growers, and vendors to ensure consistent quality and pricing. Development & Improvements Help refine the layout, organization, and flow of the nursery and yard as operations expand. Create and improve basic systems for receiving, tagging, staging, and tracking material. Recommend process improvements to reduce waste, shrinkage, and downtime. Team Leadership & Safety Lead, schedule, and direct nursery/yard staff as needed. Train team members on plant handling, loading procedures, and organization standards. Promote and enforce safe work practices and proper use of equipment (forklifts, loaders, trucks, etc.). Jump in with hands-on support when needed during busy periods (pulling orders, loading, light plant care).
Qualifications Required:
Experience in plant nursery operations, landscape supply, or commercial landscaping on the plant/material side. Working knowledge of common Florida landscape plants (trees, shrubs, groundcovers). Experience in a management role. Comfortable working outdoors in Florida weather and performing physical tasks when needed (lifting, walking, bending). Strong organization and follow-through; able to track inventory, orders, and schedules. Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft apps, and basic tracking tools). Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
Bilingual English/Spanish. Experience coordinating with project managers, superintendents, or construction teams. Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, or loaders (or willingness to be trained).
