Yardman

Yardmen are directly supervised by the Grounds Supervisor and responsible to the Director. The role of a Yardman is to care for the grounds and farm operations in a similar manner as they were traditionally performed. This is a full-time position with full benefits. It is the responsibility of the Yardman to care for many different types of plants and foliage, many of which have been growing at Grove Farm for about 100 years.

Essential Duties:

Tasks include, but are not limited to leaf blowing, watering, weeding, weed whacking, pruning, hedge trimming, clearing overgrowth, and harvesting of produce.

Secondary Duties:

A Yardman is an active part of the overall exhibit and visitor experience, interacting with guests and providing additional security and monitoring for the collections, buildings and site.
