Job Description

We are a woman owned ecological landscape design company that focuses on habitat restoration, sustainable native plant installation, creating natural living spaces that inspire connection with the land and that care for the local ecosystem. We are seeking a talented individual with at least 2-4 years of landscape or horticultural experience, to assist in all stages of installation of natural landscapes, and maintenance of healthy and quality native plants. The position requires a qualified candidate to lead and assist in the success of building natural environments, organic plant care, seed harvesting, fertilization, and team comradeship. Applicants must be passionate about native plants, and overall mission of Helia Land Design, to rebuild habitat and support biodiversity. This position works closely with the owner and opperator of Helia Land Design and the community we serve.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of plant nomenclature and growing conditions both traditional and native plants. Expert knowledge of landscape installation tasks, such as proper tree, shrub and perennials planting techniques, proper water techniques, soil preparation, soil amendments, mulch application, tree pruning, seeding meadows and lawns, tool use and maintenance single stroke engine use and maintenance. Basic chainsaw, carpentry and masonry skills. Knowledge of plant maintenance, pruning, fertilizing, and organic pest control. Leadership skills; delegating responsibilities/tasks while working with the teams strengths. Experience with scheduling, materials ordering and time management. Interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of people. Attention to detail and respect for accuracy\Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize, schedule, meet deadlines and follow through multiple tasks.

Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
