The Custodial Worker position plays an important role in keeping City buildings, equipment, and facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for employees and visitors. This position is responsible for performing general cleaning tasks and routine maintenance to maintain the appearance and functionality of City properties. Working under regular supervision, the Custodial Worker supports the City's commitment to providing a pleasant and healthy environment, enhancing the overall experience for the community and staff. The park gate attendant performs responsible work greeting visitors to the city and district parks. Work is performed under general supervision. Take cash and credit card payments from park visitors. Greets all vehicles entering park site. Checks all vehicles for appropriate permits. Maintain vehicle, attendance, and other records. Give directions to park visitors. Complete pre-shift cash count responsibilities. Balance cash register. Prepare post-shift deposit. Pass out brochures, surveys, and other park and recreation public relations materials. Maintain radio contact with Park Rangers for routine and emergency situations.
Knowledge of:
Basic math skills. Park rules and regulations . "Customer Services practices".Skilled in:
Customer service - Providing support and assistance as needed, ensuring inquiries and concerns are addressed efficiently and effectively, fostering a positive and safe work environment.Ability to:
Accurately handle money. Effectively use a cash register and credit card reader. Accurately handle money and small dollar transactions. Effectively use a cash register and credit card reader. Interact with the public and associates and maintain effective working relationships with same. Work a variable schedule that may include weekends or holidays. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Occasionally works in a normal office environment with few physical discomforts. Occasionally works in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, or temperature variation. Occasionally works in an area that is very uncomfortable due to extreme temperatures, noise levels, or other environmental conditions. Occasionally works outdoors with exposure to animals, reptiles, or insects. Occasionally works with equipment or performs procedures where carelessness could result in minor cuts, bruises, or muscle pulls. Constantly remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Constantly moves about within the immediate work area to accomplish tasks. Constantly communicates with others to exchange information. Constantly repeats motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Constantly assesses the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Constantly observes details accurately and identifies variances. Constantly maintains regular in-office attendance. Essential Employee Designation When normal operations of City departments are suspended or interrupted due to a declaration that a state of emergency exists, any employee may be deemed essential by the City.
