No County Oneida Street Address Verona Beach State Park 6541 Lakeshore Road South City Verona Beach StateNY Zip Code13162 Duties Description Under the general supervision of Park Manager 1, SG-18, the incumbent may be required to perform a variety of duties as needed that may include but not be limited to:
  • Assist park visitors with inquiries, provide information about park facilities, events, and regulations.
  • Perform general office duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, and handling correspondence.
  • Process payments for park services, manage cash handling procedures, and prepare reports.
  • Enter and update data in computer systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
  • Assist/Coordinate and schedule park events, meetings, and maintain maintenance activities.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Prepare and submit routine reports on park activities, attendance, and other relevant data.
  • Monitor and order supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Participate in the setup and breakdown of park events and activities.
  • Provide support to park management and other staff as needed.
  • Perform other park-related duties as assigned such as refuse removal, litter removal around the building, and cleaning facilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to park visitors, answering questions, providing information, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • May supervise lower-level staff. Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility; OR
  • One year of experience in any of the following fields:
  • Law enforcement or security
  • Firefighting
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Environmental education or stewardship
  • Natural resources management (e.g., forest management, wildlife management/preservation)
  • Historic preservation or interpretation
  • Landscaping or grounds maintenance OR
  • One year of military service in any branch of the United States Armed Forces; OR
  • Thirty (30) semester credit hours
  • of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university; OR
  • Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program; OR
  • Two years of experience as a trade assistant working under the direct supervision of a skilled tradesperson.
  • Your credit hours must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.
S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Additional Comments Operating Needs:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to operate a vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
