Cultivation Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician Soteria HR Van Nuys, CA Job Details Full-time $23 - $25 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork High school diploma or GED Horticulture Attention to detail Adaptability Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a Cultivation Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician for our state-of-the-art cultivation facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to implement effective pest management strategies, maintain optimal crop health, and ensure a clean and safe cultivation environment. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in cannabis cultivation and have a good understanding of integrated pest management practices. Responsibilities Implement integrated pest management strategies to minimize and control pests in the cultivation facility. Conduct regular inspections of the cultivation rooms to identify and monitor pest populations, plant health, and potential issues. Perform crop defoliation, repopulating, and harvesting tasks in accordance with cultivation schedules and production targets. Sanitize cultivation rooms, equipment, and tools to prevent the spread of pests and maintain a clean and hygienic environment. Monitor and adjust environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) to optimize crop growth and prevent pest infestations. Utilize appropriate IPM techniques, such as biological controls, beneficial insects, organic pesticides, and cultural practices, to manage pests effectively. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of IPM products, equipment, and supplies required for pest control measures. Keep accurate records of IPM activities, including pest observations, treatments applied, and their effectiveness. Collaborate with the cultivation team to identify and troubleshoot pest-related issues, provide recommendations, and implement preventive measures. Stay updated on the latest advancements in cannabis cultivation, integrated pest management techniques, and regulatory requirements. Adhere to all safety protocols, compliance regulations, and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience Minimum of 2 year of experience in cannabis cultivation, preferably in a large-scale, commercial setting. Must have valid private applicator certificate Solid understanding of integrated pest management principles, practices, and techniques specific to cannabis cultivation. Familiarity with the common pests and diseases that affect cannabis plants and their identification methods. Proficient in the safe and effective use of IPM products, organic pesticides, and cultivation equipment. Ability to perform physical tasks related to crop maintenance, defoliation, repopulating, and harvesting. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the cultivation team effectively. Knowledge of safety protocols, compliance regulations, and best practices in cannabis cultivation. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications in horticulture, agronomy, or cannabis cultivation are a plus.
