Job Description

Excellent opportunity with the County Abatement Division Long-term, full-time, seasonal role lasting up to 9 months Day shift, Monday- Friday $17.50 per hour to start
INCREASE IN PAY ONCE LICENSED!
Paid training and licensing Duties Identify pest infestations and targeted pest species. Complete work orders by mixing, applying, and documenting pesticide and rodenticide applications in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Review chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) prior to application. Operate pest control application and surveillance equipment. Mix and apply pesticides and rodenticides safely and accurately. Use mobile devices, hand-held computers, and GPS units for navigation, documentation, and mapping. Perform routine maintenance and minor repair of equipment. Properly dispose of pesticide containers and related materials. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, vehicles, and equipment. Use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE). Navigate field environments, including uneven terrain and structures. Handle small mammal carcasses as required. Perform related pest control duties and assist with special projects as assigned. Safety operate county vehicles and equipment. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Valid Driver's License with a good driving record. Be drug-free. Ability to obtain required Pest Department licensing within one month of hire. Knowledge of basic mathematics for accurate mixing and application of pesticides. Ability to safely operate pest control equipment. Ability to read, understand, and follow chemical labels, SDS sheets, and written work orders. Ability to recognize pest infestations and assess treatment needs. Ability to use computers, mobile field devices, and GPS technology. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and the public. Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively with a team. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to obtain ATV certification prior to operating ATV equipment, if required. Willingness to work in a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing. Ability to be cross-trained as needed.
