The Pest Control Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the Integrated Pest Management Plan developed for all Community Home Partners (CHP) properties including inspections, documentation, inventory control, and operation of equipment. Will also perform a wide variety of janitorial and maintenance duties to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment in Community Home Partner (CHP) properties. Duties include routine and special cleaning, picking up trash, painting, performing minor repairs, and responding to emergency calls for service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

Implements the Integrated Pest Management plan for all CHP properties. 2. Performs monthly pest control services for each of the properties and managed by CHP. 3. Creates a comprehensive action plan for each unit or building that reports a problem. 4. Documents types of treatments provided and the types and amounts of chemicals used. 5. Conducts comprehensive inspections in the common areas of each complex, as well as the grounds, to determine if any treatment is needed. Inspections will be completed at least annually. 6. Provides written documentation of each treatment performed to Pest Management Office Support for entry into the computer system. 7. Prepares a list of inventories needed on a bimonthly basis and presents it to the office support personnel. 8. Operates and maintains in good repair a variety of powered and/or manual equipment such as tank sprayers, air compressors, wet/dry vacuums, carpet vacuums, and other items generally used in the pest control field. 9. Maintains in good repair all assigned service vehicles, tools, and equipment. 10. Adheres to the CHP safety program and procedures. 11. Attends workshops, seminars, and training sessions as instructed by the Facilities Supervisor. 12. Reads and comprehends housing, pest control, and related materials. 13. Maintains confidentiality of all clients/residents. 14. Attend workshops, seminars and training sessions as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or graduate equivalency degree (GED) required; supplemented by vocation/technical school training in Pest Control Management;
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the pest control field;
- Or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the above.
License and Special Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Ability to be covered under the CHP vehicle insurance policy.
- Ability to be covered under the CHP fidelity bond.
- Currently licensed in the pest control field, i.e., Applicator Certification for Pesticides.
- Position will require the employee to earn continuing educations credits annually. While employed with CHP, the cost of these trainings will be covered.
- Commercial Not-for-Hire Applicator or Operator License - required for individuals who use or supervise the use of pesticides classified for General or Restricted Use for any purpose on property of an employer when such activity is a requirement of the terms of employment and the application is limited to property under the control of the employer only
QUALIFICATIONS

- Standard practices, methods, materials, tolls, and equipment used in pest control management
- Position will require the employee to earn continuing educations credits annually. While employed with CHP, the cost of these trainings will be covered
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work performed
- Using tools and equipment necessary to perform the job duties
- Inspect buildings and grounds and determine needed treatments
- Proficiency in reading and writing the English language, including spelling and grammar
- Follow written and oral instructions
- Understand and work from sketches, blueprints, diagrams, etc.
- Maintain records and prepare routine reports
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisors, associates, residents, and contractors
- Computer literate with thorough knowledge of electronic work orders system, project management, Excel, Word, and building and equipment maintenance software.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Regularly required to:
- Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods
- Carry, handle, and move file folders, pens, and other common office materials
- Read schematics, plans, equipment manuals, and related documents
- Lift or handle a variety of appliances and items including refrigerators, sinks, counter tops, fan motors, etc.
- Handle ranges and refrigerators using appliance hand trucks
- Lift objects up to 10 pounds 60% of the time; 25 pounds 40-60% of the time; and over 50 pounds 40% of the time
- Operate a variety of power and hand tools used in Pest Control field
- Kneel, crawl, stoop, climb, and crouch in order to work in tight of cramped spaces such as attics and crawlspaces with the ability to work in these positions for extended periods of time
- Visually and physically inspect units, grounds, and common areas
- Drive a motor vehicle Position may be exposed to the following on a regular basis:
- Odors
- Verbal abuse
- Vision strain
- Noise
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work both inside and outside. The employee may be exposed to the following on a regular basis: outdoor weather conditions, working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and vibrations. While working in a variety of environments, the employee could be exposed to moderate to loud noise levels and hazardous physical substances.
